PBN Approaches on Runway 20

Primarily used in southerly conditions

Queenstown and international traffic will track around Mandeville to line up at three nautical miles from the runway.  Dunedin and Invercargill traffic will still fly over the city above 2,900ft, turning at Bottle Lake and flying around Styx to line up at three nautical miles from the runway.

Using these approaches, instead of the current instrument landing approaches, will move traffic away from Kaiapoi, resulting in noise reduction in that area.
